These scales are part of my From the Workbench Collection—a series of one-off sets created while exploring new materials, patterns, and machining techniques.
Each set is completely unique. No repeats, no batches.

🔷 About This Set
Pattern: Vintage Especial by MIkie
Material: G-Carta (by G.L. Hansen & Sons)
Fitment: Knafs Lander 4
This set highlights the natural layering and depth that makes G-Carta such an incredible material. Each cut reveals something different—and this one turned out too good not to share.
(Note: Some photos may show scales that were lightly treated with food-grade mineral oil to highlight the depth and color of the material.)
⚙️ How They’re Made
Each set goes through a hands-on process in my Utah shop:
- Material is carefully selected and oriented for the best visual outcome
- Layout is precision-marked using laser-guided positioning
- CNC machined for accurate fit and clean geometry
- Hand-finished to bring out color, depth, and texture
- Matched as a left/right set
No mass production—just focused, small-batch craftsmanship.
🧩 Fit & Compatibility
The Lander 4 scales were designed to maintain the original shape and profile of the factory scales.
Rather than modifying the geometry, I chose to preserve the factory dimensions to ensure full compatibility with the Knafs sheath and the overall fit and feel of the knife.
The result is a custom set of G-Carta scale that retains the same carry, sheath retention, and ergonomics as the original design while showcasing the unique colors, patterns, and character that make G-Carta special.
